Described as “Inuit Soul Music,” Pamyua signifies a confluence of cultures, blending Inuit drumming and dance with R&B, gospel, jazz, and funk influences. The result is a new style that reverberates through your body and spirit.Started in 1995 by brothers Phillip (Kilirnguq) and Qacung Blanchett, Pamyua (pronounced bum-yo-ah) derives its name from the Yup’ik word meaning “encore” or “do it again.” A symbol of pride for Alaska’s Indigenous people, “the world’s most famous Inuit band” (Rolling Stone) shares its cultural harmony on stages from New Zealand to Denmark to The Kennedy Center.
Anchorage Concert Association and CenterTix box office are the only authorized sellers of tickets to this show.
