Palmistry 101
About this Event
Palmistry 101
In this introductory palmistry workshop, you will learn the basics of palm reading, from the major lines to the elements of the hands, and a number of techniques to help you trust your intuition and flex your seeing abilities. We will also cover the origins of palmistry and how the persecution of Roma, an Indian diasporic ethnic group also known by the racial slur "Gypsies," has shaped the culture's practice of and relationship to fortune telling, and the popularization of palmistry in the west. Instructor Jezmina Von Thiele, coauthor of Secrets of Romani Fortune Telling and cohost of Romanistan podcast, will teach you their perspective on the practice passed down from their grandmother, who in turn learned it from her grandparents, and so on, as a family survival trade.
This class is offered both online and in-person. You will be emailed a PDF of notes after the class, so note taking during class is encouraged if you find it helpful to record insights about your own hand.
