PalmerPark WINTERFEST MultiCultural Holiday: Attend or Volunteer!

People for Palmer Park will hold its free WinterFest MultiCultural Holiday Celebration on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2024 from 1-4 pm (set up begins at 9 am and cleanup until about 5:30).

We need help setting up the area before the event. Before the event, volunteers are needed both inside the Log Cabin and outside to set up tables, tents and firepits. If you love to decorate, help us embellish the cabin with the beauty of the season with holiday decorations. During the event, we need help serving cookies and hot cocoa, and have arts & crafts and other activities for chldren. Are you a baker or business and willing to donate a tray of cookies? We need those as well!

We are also looking for people, neighborhoods and businesses to decorate rooms and spaces in the Cabin before the event—fill out this if you are interested in this opportunity.

We need volunteers and groups to help:

• Set up the event outside and inside the historic Log Cabin (which we have been restoring to be a center for community gatherings, and educational and cultural enrichment);
• Outside at the Horse & Carriage rides, set up and keep the fire pits burning and safe; and assist with winter sports and activities (weather permitting);
• Inside the tent: help with children's arts and crafts, welcome people and share the history of the cabin;
• Serve hot cocoa and cookies in one of the tents;
• Help with cleanup and breakdown.
