The First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir will offer Joseph Martin’s cantata, The Lenten Sketches, on Palm Sunday, March 24 during the 11:00 a.m. worship service combining music and narration to paint the pictures of Christ’s Passion and last week on earth. Allow the words and music to sketch pictures in your mind as you reflect on Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, as he gathers with his disciples around the table at the Last Supper, as he prays in the darkness of Gethsemane, as he is led to the cross of Calvary and as darkness falls and we wait with anticipation to celebrate the glorious resurrection of Easter morning.
