We welcome registrations for this upcoming workshop for Caregivers, Health Care Assistants & Support workers. Registration is essential.
This programme is for Heath Care Assistants (HCAs), Support Workers and Caregivers working in Aged Care and Community Assisted Living Homes and is Not for Nurses, Allied Health or the general public.
This workshop is 2 hours per session over 4 weeks and attendees must attend all 4 sessions to gain the Hospice NZ Palliative Care Certificate. The education is endorsed by Hospice New Zealand, and a certificate will be awarded on completion of the programme.
Topics covered include:
• Principles of palliative care
• Managing physical symptoms
• Care in the last days of life
• Communication
• Understanding loss and grief
• Spirituality and self-care
Target audience: Heath care assistants, Support workers and Caregivers working in rest homes & community homes (And is Not for Nurses, Allied Health or the general public)
(* Attendees must attend all 4 sessions to gain the Hospice New Zealand certificate)
