Palestine Fundraiser

Join us on October 3rd for an evening of solidarity and support at our fundraiser event from 6 PM to 10 PM. The event will feature live performances, stalls and talks, all aimed at raising crucial funds for families in Gaza and those living in refugee camps in Egypt who urgently need our help.

This gathering is a call to come together and amplify awareness of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
All donations will be securely sent through a contact in Egypt who has direct ties to the families this money is going to, primarily to cover urgent medical expenses and the skyrocketing cost of living. No intermediaries, NGOs, or organisations will be involved - this is direct aid for those who need it most.

Money raised from this fundraiser will be going to a contact in Egypt, her name is Farida El Tayeb. She used to live in Edinburgh but now lives in Cairo.

The vast majority of Gazans who managed to evacuate when the border was still open live in Cairo, Egypt. Through community and social media efforts she managed to meet dozens of Palestinian families in Egypt, all of which still have family (including parents, siblings) in Gaza. All money donated is directed towards:

A) Sustaining life in Egypt through support with rent, living expenses, medical bills, etc. Gazans in Egypt receive zero support from the government and minimal support from NGOs or AID organisations, leaving their entire livelihood in the hands of individual and small group fundraising efforts sustained through care and community efforts.

Gazans in Egypt are not given formal residential status past 40 days, meaning they have no ID or legal status allowing them to find work or to even apply for asylum out of Egypt. This leaves refugees in a bureaucratic hell of not being able to seek employment while also not being provided with any support to sustain their livelihood. Many are at the risk of homelessness and food insecurity due to lack of income. Fundraising efforts are the only thing that ease this fate.

B) Sustaining life in Gaza. Where the prices of food, water, and medicine are astronomically high due to price gauging and scarcity due to the lack of aid being allowed in. The money being sent to Gaza is sent to the families of people Farida directly knows and supports in Egypt. Thus the network of support is grounded in supporting families in Egypt and their families that are still in Gaza.

Money is transferred from a UK bank account, to an Egyptian bank account, where money is sent directly to those who need it or given in cash by hand. Money sent to Gaza is done through bank transfer.
