To the Pakistani and South Asian Community

Greetings,

It is with the utmost pleasure that we are, both proud and exceptionally fortunate to announce the annual Pakistani Day Parade, to be held on Sunday, August 28th, 2023 at Papaianni Park in Edison Township, Middlesex County, NJ. This year we will be commemorating the most auspicious occasion of the 77th Annual celebration of Pakistan’s Independence. As part of this most felicitous occasion, we endeavor, as always, to give a voice and a platform to the beloved members of our diasporic community. This parade celebrates our people, our dreams, our vision, and our voice. As such, we are reaching out for contributions from our community here in the US, to contribute to the annual parade magazine.

We are soliciting and accepting multiple submission, such as businesses submissions to our directory, advertisements, startup proposals, and community boosters, that will showcase the entrepreneurial spirit that has always made our diaspora productive and industrious members of any broader community that we join around the globe.

We are likewise seeking written short-form articles or “op-ed” pieces (to be limited to no more than three to five paragraphs in length to allow for space for as many of our community to equally have the privilege of being platformed). Exceptions, however can be made so please reach out to us so we can discuss your ideas. We are open to Urdu and English literature and original poetry.

We similarly are pleased to feature cultural heritage announcements, ranging from mehfils or cultural events, such as artistic exhibits, culturally relevant classes, (Urdu, Punjabi, tajwid classes, dance classes etc.) as well as honorable mentions that will celebrate the diversity and excellence of notable members of our illustrious diasporic community members.

Our community truly exemplifies what our beloved and warmly remembered founder, Sam Khan always knew within his heart was our greatest communal attribute, our power to come together in unity, as the living embodiment of “the power of passionate people.” Pakistan Zindabad!

Sincerely Yours,

Ms. Arzoo Farooq
