Have you struggled to create meaningful art? Do you want to create paintings that tell a story? Taina is a narrative painter who loves to tell her stories through images and thoughtful composition. She will guide you through the process of choosing the story you will tell, collecting the images to inspire you, developing a strong composition and painting your story. Whatever your level of painting experience, the focus in this class is creating an interesting subject and working through the painting process to express your artistic voice. The first class will be dedicated to learning about narrative art and going through exercises to help you start this journey as well as discussing acrylic paint and materials. The following classes will be used to work on the painting process. You will work at your own pace to go through the steps. Painting demos will help you to understand color theory, creating volume through light and shadow and some exercises to loosen up your approach to that canvas. August 18th through September 22ad (no class on Labor Day)
