Painting Workshop: Soft Colour Palette

Join us at Art Studio Amsterdam in the heart of Amsterdam for a special concept workshop dedicated to exploring the beauty of soft, pastel colour palettes. In this authentic 2.5-hour session, you will discover pastel colour theory through contemporary images in an atmosphere that is educational, connecting, relaxing, and fun.

This small-group workshop is designed to create a calm and inspiring space where participants can slow down, express themselves, and connect with others through art.

This workshop focuses specifically on soft colour palettes and pastel colour theory, helping you understand how to create harmony, subtle contrast, and emotional depth in your paintings.

Everyone is welcome — whether you paint as a hobby and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of art, or you are developing your artistic skills and want to deepen your understanding of colour in a contemporary context.

You will learn in an open and supportive environment, guided by experienced art teachers with professional training and extensive teaching experience.

During this session, you will:

• Learn the fundamentals of pastel colour theory
• Explore how contemporary artists use soft tones and subtle contrasts
• Practice creating balanced and atmospheric compositions
• Receive individual guidance and feedback tailored to your level

The workshop is suitable for both beginners and more advanced participants. Each person will work at their own pace and level of experience.

You will create your own painting using a soft colour palette inspired by contemporary imagery. You may:

• Interpret provided contemporary references
• Work in an abstract or expressive style
• Develop your own idea within the pastel theme

The focus is on experimentation, personal expression, and understanding how soft colours interact.

All painting materials, aprons, and gloves are included.

You will also enjoy:

Everything is prepared so you can fully relax and immerse yourself in the creative process.

If you cannot attend this session, we regularly organise new workshops. Regular painting sessions are scheduled on Thursday evenings throughout the year.

It is also possible to organise private group workshops or team activities, either at the studio or at your preferred location, on your desired date and time.
