About this Event
Microbes are the cornerstone of the biotechnology revolution, but can you also consider them beautiful? Join Genspace to participate in a hands-on activity designed to highlight the wonders of the microbial world! In this hands-on event, you'll learn how microbes can be engineered to produce eye-pleasing images and novel materials. Genspace will provide colorful or fluorescent microbes that you can paint on your own agar 'canvas'!
NOTE: This event is Family Friendly: youth ages 5-16 may attend with parent supervision and youth ages 16+ may attend without parent supervision.

Meet the Instructor
Julie Wolf (she/her) received her Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology from the University of Minnesota and did her postdoctoral fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As a research scientist, she studied the ways that microbes adapt to different areas within the human body to cause disease. She has also worked in science communications for the American Society for Microbiology and is currently a biotech investor. You can find her talking about biotech and science on twitter.
