Painting: The Art of Portraiture

For Ages 12 - 18 - Improve your drawing and painting skills as you focus on creating unique portraits of the world around you. Learn different techniques to draw and paint facial features and body proportions as you study a range of styles, including self-portraits, observational portraits, abstract portraits, and more. Learn about and be inspired by portrait artists Amy Sherald, Kehinde Wiley, and Gustav Klimt. Additionally, we will tour the work of artist Alison Saar, whose exhibition Of Aether and Earthe is currently on view at the Armory, and draw inspiration from her art as we create our own unique pieces.

Materials are provided and included in the price of the class.
