PAINTED VEIN is the music project of the musician, producer, and audio engineer Andrea Fox Volpato who has spent the last 10 years collaborating in writing, recording, and touring the world with different music projects.
From 2017 to 2022 Andrea was the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the Italian band New Candys with whom he toured Europe, the UK, Australia, the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Balkans and opened tours for bands like the Dandy Warhols, Black Angels, and BJM. Furthermore, he played in notorious festivals like Psycho Vegas, SXSW, Devilstone in Lithuania, and Levitation France. In his studio he recorded, mixed and co-produced the last two studio albums of New Candys (“Bleeding Magenta” and “Vyvyd”).
Andrea also recorded, mixed and produced the albums „Euphoric Recall“ and „Jaywalker“ of the Seattle artist MØAA and co-wrote with duet vocals on their hit single “X Marks.“ He toured since the inception of the project as the lead guitarist and vocalist across Europe/UK where they shared the stage with Yves Tumor and played in festivals like Ypsigrock in Sicily and MIL in Lisbon, as well as several tours in the United States including official showcases at SXSW in 2022 and 2024. Andrea is still an active touring member with MØAA and prior to that he was also the drummer of the Italian noise-rock band Love in Elevator with whom he toured Europe and opened for bands like Shellac and Refused.
His debut album “Dripping Only Black” captures the culmination of his experience over the last ten years as a musician and illuminates the skills of his writing and production when he is solely behind the creative wheel. Every instrument on the record was written, performed, produced, recorded and mixed by himself in his recording studios in Venice, Italy and Seattle. The album was released on November 15th, 2024 via WWNBB and AWAL followed by a EU tour and West Coast tour in the US. On December 4th 2025 Painted Vein will release the first single of the second album followed by a EU/UK tour in February 2026.

THE MAZE CAB is a four-piece post-punk band from Berlin and Potsdam. Hypnotic, grinning guitar riffs and energetically driving Krautrock beats interlock with permanently distorted bass lines. This controlled conflagration is dominated by the alternating, sometimes two-part vocal lines of Katharina and Gernot – the perfect mix for getting along and going wild. Love and rebellion and the well-known human abysses, modern life, the autobiographical... these are all themes of The Maze Cab's mostly metaphorical lyrics. In a sense, they are a reflection of their music: the boundaries of the usual genres are fluid. The Maze Cab continue to create their own world.
