Join us for the First Friday opening of "Painted Frames" by Kristin Robbins. Kristin Robbins paints characters caught in everyday activities – folding clothes, raking leaves – looking like reluctant subjects interrupted to get their picture taken in maximalist interiors or busy exteriors. The colors and trimmings of the environments evoke the wallpaper or lamp you remember fondly from your grandparent’s house. She painted houses, inside and out, for years, and she started making art in 2015, filling sketchbooks with depictions of her dog Stamos in a sailor suit in ironic settings. She is the longtime bassist for local band, Balonely. She has always lived in Washington, and she is a part-time custodian for Spokane Public Schools.
