Loosely defined as Americana, Painted Canyon is a rock trio hailing from Chicago. Formed in the summer of 2019, they released their first full length album Permanent Reflection in March 2021, working with renowned engineer-producer, Mike Hagler at Kingsize Sound Labs. With his fingerprints all over Wilco, Billy Bragg/Wilco, Neco Case, Waco Brothers, Maps & Atlases, Califone, Calexico and My Morning Jacket, the band put their debut in good hands. The album was mastered by Chris Frasco of Master Frasco Audio Lab in East Nashville.
The band’s members (Evan Burns, Eric Gannon, and Dan Powell) have packed in a lot of playing in the Chicago area, Central Illinois, and Wisconsin. They broke into the scene performing at famous Chicago-area venues such as FitzGerald’s, Reggies, Law Office Pub, Tonic Room, Carol’s Pub and Urbana’s historical Rose Bowl Tavern, to name a few. They’ve shared bills with other national touring artists such as Jesse Dayton, Jason Hawk Harris, Volk, Goodnight Texas, and The Dirty Streets.
