With a new edition right around the corner, we're pulling out all the stops and announcing the return of our Warhammer themed Paint to Glory Challenge!
The rules are simple:
1) Purchase your ticket before June 20th
2) Build, paint, and submit your entry by July 25th
3) Let our panel of judges shower you with praise and (hopefully) prizes!
This competition is a marked departure from our past Paint To Glory challenges. We are allowing more leeway with your submissions, and asking people to submit models/units based on base size. How does it work?
Your model must be an official Warhammer 40,000 Games Workshop model. No third party or 3d prints. The maximum area base size we are allowing is 160mm. A single model at 160mm could serve as your entry. Alternatively, you could submit:
- Up to two models on (up to) 80mm bases
- Up to four models on (up to) 40mm bases
- Up to five models on (up to) 32mm bases
Please ask if you have ANY questions!
Importantly, whatever you choose to submit will be evaluated equally. If you feel most confident submitting a single model on a 32mm base--great! That should be your entry!
Your incentive for all this hard work? A free copy of the new Warhammer 40k 11th edition starter.
Additional prizing will be provided via store credit, model kits, hobby supplies (and more!), depending on attendance.

Judging will begin July 26th, and will follow the Crystal Brush grading criterion, with a few exceptions:
Hobby Prep & Construction (25%)
- Model is well built
- no noticeable mould lines
Basing (25%)
- Does the base make sense for the model?
-Well made, and neat
-Does it fit size constraints
-Is it well painted
-Does it distract from the the figure
-does it enhance the mini
Painting/Theme (50%)
-Clean
-Consistent
-lighting make sense
And that's it! We can't wait to see your submissions! If you have any questions, drop us a line, we'd be happy to answer any questions!
Stay safe, hobby hard, and we'll see you at the table!
