Paint the 'Ville Teal in January, Cervical Health Awareness Month!

The American Cancer Society estimates for cervical cancer in the United States in 2022 :

• About 14,100 new cases of invasive cervical cancer will be diagnosed.*
• About 4,280 women will die from cervical cancer.*

No one should die from a preventable disease. The Crawford Crew's (TCC) mission is to end HPV-related cancers. To accomplish this we must raise awareness of cervical cancer and provide education on how to prevent it. Every January, TCC and other advocacy groups highlight issues related to cervical cancer, HPV disease and the importance of early detection. While TCC hosts events throughout the year, January is dedicated to highlighting Cervical Health Awareness and spreading the word in Ohio.

When: On Sunday, January 8, 2023.

What: TCC will tie teal ribbons throughout the community as a visual reminder that it’s Cervical Health Awareness month.

Why: The teal ribbons are a conversation starter, each time someone asks what the ribbons are for it’s an opportunity for survivors, supporters, and advocates to educate and raise awareness of cervical cancer.

Together we can shatter the statistics by getting out into the community and sharing facts about HPV and Cervical Cancer, and how to prevent both.
