It’s that wonderful time of year again – Paint the Street! 🖌 🎉You’re invited to make your mark on the @cityofstcharlesil with this annual community public art project!
✨️ How does it work?
The design will be mapped out by the St. Charles Arts Council, and members of the community (no experience needed) are invited to paint the project in a paint-by-numbers style.
✨️ What is the design?
The design is set thanks to St. Charles East High School Student, Corinna Dietz with the mentorship of St. Charles Arts Council board member, Howard Russo. We are so excited to reveal it on the big day!
✨️ How long will the painting take?
Painting the Riverside is set up from 6a.m. to 2p.m. The bulk of the work is done earlier in the day. You do not need to commit to the entire day to help. We encourage people to come when they can – many hands make lighter work!
✨️ Where can I find Paint the Street?
Paint the Street is located on Riverside Avenue, where Flagship and Arcada meet. The street will be barricaded from 6a.m. to 2p.m. on Saturday, May 9th for the safety of all of those taking part in this wonderful community art.
✨️ Will it wash away?
The painting is built to last! It will be a vibrant piece of public art throughout the Summer and Fall and experience fading during the Winter, before it is time for a repaint next year!
