• A local artist who makes painting feel doable, even if your last art project was in grade school.
• Leave with a finished painted vinyl record you’ll want to hang up (or at least brag about to friends).

About the Instructor:

Art has been a constant for Chanel, as she grew up in San Francisco both appreciating the art scene and creating art through drawing. She is a local artist who specializes in painting,

crocheting, and printmaking. Making art is a therapeutic/meditative activity for Chanel, as it helps her connect with herself and express her feelings onto the canvas. When she creates paintings and prints, she tends to draw inspiration from nature and usually use a vibrant color palette. She began as a self-taught artist, taking a few art classes from City College of San Francisco in her early twenties. Recently, Chanel has graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s in Art degree in Art (with a focus in painting) and History of Art and Visual Culture. She keeps herself immersed in the art community here, in San Francisco by volunteering at Precita Eyes, exhibiting her art in galleries and shows, and connecting with fellow local artists.

Inspired by a love for creativity and a desire to foster connection in the Sunset District, we envisioned a “third space” where neighbors can gather, unwind, and form meaningful relationships. Our mission is to empower self-expression, boost confidence, and offer an inclusive haven for everyone, from introverts seeking a calm environment to those enjoying health-focused traditional teas.
