Energize your soul through artistic expression in this relaxing painting class while painting a landscape of your favorite season. During this two-hour workshop, you will learn techniques to make time for yourself and unblock your creative mind, including how to get started, how to create harmony through color and texture, how to compose your painting, and how to know when you are done.We will use a landscape scene sketch as the subject for this session, or you can bring your own image. You choose colors that reflect your favorite season for the scenery. As we progress through the session, you will notice how your own feelings about the subject will emerge through your work. The end result can be anything from a recreation of what you see to an abstract or impressionist expression that is unique to you — that's up to you!
This class is great for adults (18 and up) at any experience level; just bring an open mind and a desire to relax through art! Artists will take home the masterpiece they create in class that day.
Materials needed: Comfortable clothes, Apron or cover optional
Materials Provided: Painting materials, 16x20" canvas (you will take home)
REGISTRATION: $80 (including fees)
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Haleh Mahbod’s colorful, uplifting paintings remind us of the importance of living in the moment, being present and appreciating the ordinary moments in life. She is inspired by her travel experiences, nature and people interactions. Her unique intuitive painting style is contemporary, a bridge between abstract and impressionist. Haleh lives in Saratoga with her family. She teaches art and holds workshops at her studio in Saratoga. She believes there is a hidden, unique artist in all of us that shows up when we let go of boundaries and expectations.
