Paint & Sip: Portuguese Tiles & Port Wine

Join us for a warm and artful evening inspired by the beauty, history, and charm of Portugal. In this hands-on workshop, each guest will paint a set of Portuguese-inspired tile coasters while sipping port wine and learning about the cultural story behind Portugal’s iconic tilework.

Portuguese tiles, known as azulejos, can be found across Portugal on churches, palaces, homes, train stations, and city streets. These intricate designs often tell stories through color, geometry, nature, faith, and history — transforming everyday spaces into works of art.

In this guided class, each guest will design and paint their own set of 4 coasters inspired by traditional Portuguese tile patterns. Whether you’re an artist at heart or simply looking for a beautiful way to spend an evening, this class invites you to slow down, sip, paint, and explore Portuguese culture through creativity.

Enjoy a curated atmosphere with port wine & music, and meaningful cultural storytelling as we celebrate Portugal’s artistic heritage with respect and curiosity.

Portuguese tilework, or azulejos, is one of Portugal’s most recognizable art forms. Influenced by centuries of cultural exchange, these tiles often feature blue-and-white designs, floral motifs, geometric patterns, and storytelling scenes. They are not only decorative — they are a living part of Portugal’s architecture, identity, and visual history.
