About this Event

Travel to the mountains of Patagonia! In this hands-on workshop, tweens will create a vibrant watercolour landscape inspired by South America's dramatic peaks and crystal-blue lakes. Using watercolour brush pens, students will learn easy techniques for blending colours, creating depth, and painting an exciting erupting volcano. Step by step, they'll transform simple shapes into a bold work of art filled with colourful wildflowers, mountain scenery, and volcanic action. No prior watercolour experience is needed—just bring your creativity and get ready for an artistic adventure!

In this session, kids will:

• Learn watercolour brush pen basics including blending and layering.
• Create realistic landscape elements such as mountains, water, clouds, and flowers.
• Paint an exciting erupting volcano using simple techniques and dramatic colour effects.
• Build confidence in artistic skills through easy-to-follow, step-by-step instruction.
• Take home a finished Patagonia-inspired masterpiece that showcases creativity and imagination.

Supplies provided for the event:

• STAEDTLER Watercolour brush pens, pack of 6 colours
• STAEDTLER Lumograph pencil to transfer drawing
• Heavy watercolour paper, 9 x 12
• Plastic palette or white plastic plate
• Paint brush or water brush
• Water cup and paper towel
• Tutorial handout – includes drawing template

The event runs from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with each child enjoying a 30-minute building session.
