SynopsisThe latest hotshot on the NASCAR circuit, Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise), deals with antagonists, camaraderie and the perils of his sport when he crosses paths with his mentor (Robert Duvall), rivals and a potential lover/healer, the sultry Dr. Claire Lewicki (Nicole Kidman) on his path to win.

It's Top Gun on the racetrack. Though very different, it makes sense that the same man is at the helm. There was a time we were lucky enough to have Tony Scott making pictures, and though that time has passed, he has left us with an excellent filmography exciting enough to revisit again and again. Tony’s brother Ridley is also a brilliant and fun vibrant filmmaker, but they are very different. What would be more fun than looking at them together? And the miniseries Great Scott is born. Since this is Paid in Sweat, we start off hot and speedy with the high-octane blockbuster NASCAR flick, DAYS OF THUNDER.
Tony pairs up again with one of his most charismatic collaborators: Tom Cruise. The film is fast, sexy and full of heart (pillars of this program and of Tony Scott movies). A star-studded cast, fitted out in tight jeans and leaning into wind-swept hair. Let’s get into our time machine we always keep fueled up and running and head to 1990 to take in the heart-pumping world of stockcar racing. Then we’ll travel back further with Ridley Scott on August 1st with his style of sweat, back to the beginning of sport with GLADIATOR, as we wave the checkered flag for GREAT SCOTT in its inaugural year!
