🎨 Pahadi Aipan Art Workshop – Draw Tradition, Create Blessings ✨
Step into the serene beauty of the hills and discover the timeless charm of Aipan Art, a sacred folk art form from Uttarakhand that beautifully blends creativity with tradition.
Aipan is traditionally created by women on floors and walls during festivals, rituals, and special occasions. Using a striking contrast of white rice paste (called biswar) on a red ochre background (geru), these designs are believed to invite positivity, prosperity, and divine blessings into the home. Every pattern holds meaning—whether it’s for welcoming guests, celebrating a festival, or marking an auspicious moment.
The beauty of Aipan lies in its geometric precision, symmetry, and spiritual symbolism. Motifs like Lakshmi Chowki (associated with wealth and good fortune), Saraswati Chowki (symbolizing knowledge), and sacred footprints are drawn with intention and devotion, turning simple lines into powerful cultural expressions.
In this workshop, you won’t just learn how to draw—you’ll understand the stories, beliefs, and emotions behind each design, making your artwork truly meaningful.
🌿 What you’ll experience:
• A deeper introduction to the history and cultural roots of Aipan Art
• Learn traditional motifs and their significance
• Practice patterns, symmetry, and line work step-by-step
