The Roots of India’s Knowledge Traditions
Multimedia Presentation in English
This multimedia presentation featuring author Dr. Sucheta Paranjpe explores the timeless foundations of India’s cultural and knowledge traditions, and how India’s classical texts continue to shape theatre, dance, music and aesthetics even today.
The programme will journey through the Natyashastra of Bharatmuni, its philosophy, practice and relevance to the modern stage while tracing the origins of Indian performing arts back to the Rigveda Sanhita, regarded as the Gangotri (origin) of Indian culture and civilisation.
Blending literature, spoken word, visuals and performative interpretation, the presentation creates a vibrant dialogue between ancient wisdom and contemporary artistic expression.
An NCPA Library Presentation
Entry free on a first come, first served basis.
