Bring your own kayak, canoe, or paddleboard and join Park Ranger Eric for a paddle on the French Broad River! We will be taking a short paddle out to enjoy the sights and sounds of our native, twisty river. Fishing is encouraged as long as you bring a valid TN fishing license. Ranger Eric will provide information about the history of the French Broad, current SISBP happenings, and more!
Depending on the water conditions, the group will either paddle back to the boat launch or take out at the bridge near the island. If we take boats out under the bridge, park staff will transport boats/boards back to the boat launch as participants walk approximately 1.5 miles back to the parking area. Participants should provide your own PFDs, and bring sunscreen and drinking water. Please plan on meeting Ranger Eric at the boat launch on Kelly Lane by 10:00 AM.
