Pacific Workshop on Nature-based Coastal Solutions

The Pacific Chapter of the Nature-based Coastal Solutions (NbCS) Community of Practice is excited to announce its inaugural in-person event, the ‘Pacific Workshop on Nature-based Coastal Solutions’. This three-day workshop will take place from October 8-10, 2024 at the Morris J. Wosk Center for Dialogue in Vancouver, BC, as follows:

• Tuesday, October 8th - Field Trip
• Wednesday, October 9th - Workshop Sessions
• Thursday, October 10th - Workshop Sessions

We acknowledge that this Workshop will be held on the unceded and ancestral territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. We are grateful for the opportunity to congregate, work and play on these lands.

This three-day workshop aims to unite professionals, researchers, and advocates from diverse backgrounds to foster collaboration, learning, and advocacy for NbCS in the Pacific Region, with the following themes/topics:

• Innovation, Trends, and Research
• Indigenous Perspectives and Initiatives
• Case Studies
• Multidisciplinary Approaches and Structures for Implementation

• Communication of Hazards, Risks, Designs, and Co-benefits
