Oxbow Prairie walk

Join the group as we explore the flood plain and see the North Branch of the Chicago river as it winds and bends through Caldwell and Bunker Hill Woods. We will see some interesting trees and native plants as we make our way to the picnic grove areas of this preserve.

The walk will be at a moderate pace and mostly on unpaved trails. Please wear sturdy hiking boots. Weather appropriate clothing and water for hydration are recommended.

We'll meet at the entrance to Caldwell Woods and walk a loop through the oxbow and Bunker Hill to return to the starting point. The point of origin is the warming shelter just inside the entrance on Devon Ave.
