OWP Youth Writing Camp Donor Opportunity

For 48 years the Oklahoma Writing Project (OWP) has supported educators from PreK through University, across all subjects and levels of certification.

As part of a network of 148 sites across the US, OWP has held annual Summer Institutes where teachers share research-driven best practices in writing, reading, and literacy, as well as school and district level professional development. Additionally, our writing project has supported students through an annual Write to Win competitions and multiple writing conferences OWP has been a foundational resource for Oklahoma teachers and students in the teaching and learning of writing.

This summer, we are holding our second Youth Writing Camp at the University of Oklahoma for 7th- through 12th-graders.

As a 501 3c organization, we do not operate for profit. However, to cover the costs of a staff of OWP teacher consultants, lunches, and supplies, we are charging $250 for each participant. We are keenly aware that not all students will be able to afford this fee and are hoping to create greater access to an engaging week of writing by offering partial to full scholarships.
