About this Event

Presenter: Robert Boyle

Presentation: Getting Pwned by a Chrome Extension

What starts as a simple browser extension download quickly turns into a real-world cybersecurity incident. In this session, Rob walks through how he was compromised by a credential-stealing campaign believed to be linked to a Chinese threat actor, the mistakes that led to the compromise, how the attack worked behind the scenes, and the steps he took to investigate, contain, and recover from it. Attendees will leave with practical lessons on browser security, credential theft, and how even cybersecurity practitioners can become victims.
