Overview To Volunteer Management
About this Event
This four-week, eight-session workshop beginning October 1, 2026, equips participants with the knowledge and practical tools to design, manage, and evaluate sustainable volunteer programs. Covering two three-hour modules every Thursday, the curriculum guides attendees through the complete volunteer lifecycle—starting with current nonprofit trends, leadership, and administrative planning, then moving into targeted recruitment, proper 10-step screening, and risk management.
As the program progresses, participants learn to apply adult learning principles to onboarding, implement strategic retention and recognition efforts, and navigate challenging management situations. The series culminates in program evaluation techniques that enable leaders to measure economic impact, optimize volunteer performance, and align volunteer engagement directly with their organization's long-term mission.
