Overland South is South Carolina’s premier overlanding, camping, and off-roading event held biannually in the spring and fall. The biannual family-friendly weekend camping event for overlanding enthusiasts is held at the private, 6,000 acre Woodlands Nature Reserve in Charleston, SC. Attendees arrive with camper vans, 4x4’s with rooftop tents, adventure bikes, RVs, or good old fashioned tents. With several lakes and over 30 miles of dirt roads and trails, this massive property is open for exploration. Typical activities may include blackwater swamp kayak tours, Birds of Prey Center’s flight demonstration, combat archery, sheepdog herding demonstration, laser skeet shooting, blacksmith metal forging demonstration, kids’ fossil hunt, mushroom foraging, offroading workshops, guided ebike trips, raffles, night vision goggle demonstration, or geocache scavenger hunts. Our 4x4 Challenge Course is expanded every year and provides hours of entertainment for both drivers and spectators.
