Overflow After Dark

Overflow After Dark was birthed out of the vision to provide local artists and entrepreneurs with a professional platform to showcase their work. Overflow After Dark is an interactive music experience fusing the heart of blues, soul, and jazz from generations past to the present. Overflow After Dark will be hosted at Overflow Coffee—the former home of Vee-Jay Records.

Overflow’s Dec 4th event—the 3rd in our concert series at 1449 S Michigan Ave—will feature present-day Chicago-based artists Nashon Holloway and Attack the Sound.

With a name meaning “oracle,” Nashon Holloway was born to sing healing. Having just composed and performed her first opus with symphony orchestra, Nashon is truly genreless, but would refer to her singing and guitar playing as “soulful.” With a four octave range, Holloway has been referred to as “sweet and colorful” by NPR Music, and can be heard singing on various feature films, indie films, video games - as well as background vocals for many emerging artists. Often overheard saying “harmony is a lifestyle," her original music is an invitation to divinely align body, soul and spirit - uptempo or moody - she will meet you where you are.

Formed in 2009 by army vet, singer/songwriter Davo Sounds (David Woulard), Attack the Sound (ATS) has worked tirelessly to leave a lasting impression on the Chicago music scene. Using elements of jazz, hip hop, blues, gospel, and rock, ATS has coined a new genre, Chi-pop [alternative R&B].

You won't want to miss this incredible evening of memorable and innovative music in a place where music history was made! Limited seats available.

Doors open at 6pm. The coffee bar will be open for food and beverage orders.
