Please join the Harm Reduction Action Center, and a bunch of our friends*, for our upcoming Overdose Grief Day event and rally at the Denver City and County building on Monday, August 31.
Overdose Grief Day (formerly known as Overdose Awareness Day) is recognized around the world as an occasion to acknowledge those who have experienced an overdose, as well as loved ones who have been affected. Over the last 55 plus years of the racist and classist war on drugs, drug overdose deaths have increased significantly in many parts of the world, including Denver, Colorado, and continue to worsen.
Overdose Grief Day hopes to publicly challenge the stigma associated with drug use and overdose. This day spreads the message that the tragedy of overdose death is preventable and empowers people to work together to prevent overdose as a community.
