Welcome back to Overbooked, the book club for the gal who does it all… but also deserves a night off.

We’re back on Sunday, 2 November in The Sitting Room at Delahunt for another cosy evening of books, wine, and brilliant conversation.

📖 This month’s read is Hallowe’en Party by Agatha Christie, a classic Hercule Poirot mystery that begins at a Halloween party, where a young girl boasts that she once witnessed a M**der — only to be found dead soon after. What follows is one of Christie’s darker and more atmospheric tales, full of twists, uneasy village secrets, and a touch of her signature wit.

Originally published in 1969, Hallowe’en Party has found renewed interest in recent years, rediscovered by a new generation of readers and brought back into the spotlight through recent film adaptations.

🍷 Optional add-on: Take-home wine of the month
Our wine of the month is Château Mayne Vieil – Fronsac (2019), a classic Bordeaux red with rich dark fruit, soft tannins, and a smooth finish. It’s a beautifully balanced wine that pairs perfectly with autumn evenings.
