The story is based on a typical Catholic Polish American family in Buffalo, NY and a nun who rules with a ruler, especially over the young son who's decided he's no longer Catholic. Who can forget the 1950's avocado/orange decor and the mores of that period in this nostalgic comedy rife with laughter but also carrying themes of family, adolescence and religion?
