the Band:
Linda Wolf has recorded with monster guitarist Phil Keaggy & sat in with Koko Taylor as well as played with original, far-reaching New York, North Carolina, & Chicago-area bands. Recently, she has appeared locally with several Asheville musicians including Jesse Barry, Peggy Ratusz, & Melissa McKinney, & has recorded with Asheville-based original bands Magenta Sunshine, Sister Ivy, & GrudaTree.
M Hurley was featured in Guitar World magazine, Chicago Tribune / other press, including international, & signed a licensing deal with Outright Music a few years ago, and has had major label interest. Her passion for world music textures was ignited in part by elements as diverse as Arabic maqams, living in Israel & listening to classic Indian ragas. She moved to Asheville in late 2021 and is firing up her musical passions here.
Vocalist Derian Blane is also a prolific songwriter & instrumentalist. Derian’s sound flows smoothly between Soul, Funk, Punk, & Southern. Derian moved from West Virginia & has been a part of the Asheville community since June of 2022. She grew up touring with The One Voice Project, presenting children around the east coast a message of hope & empowerment. Since her move to Asheville, Derian has joined Leaf Global Arts as a resident artist teaching ukulele, songwriting, guitar, & cultural competence. She is working on writing & recording her first solo album & is plugged into many outlets in the Asheville live music community.
Kim Butler is a multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter playing fretless & fretted bass as well as electric & acoustic guitar. In late 2023 she released a 5-song EP “Kaleidoscope” currently on all streaming platforms. She has performed with a variety of renowned Asheville-area performers including Will Ray, Chicago blues man Mr. Jimmy, Peggy Ratusz, Jason DeCristofaro & Ray Ring; nationally she has performed with/opened for The Hooters, Tommy Conwell, Nils Lofgren & performed in and around the Philly, PA area for 30+ years.
Robin Borthwick began playing drums at age 12, then drumming for several high school rock bands, and played the college fraternity circuit. She moved to Houston, where she played the gamut of clubs in the 80s and 90s with a regionally successful cover band. In 1998, she established herself in the Houston musical theater circuit for fifteen years. In 2005, she lived in Scotland, touring Europe with Lucille and the Red Hot Blues Mamas performing at the Aalborg Blues Festival, Denmark, and Stichting Blues Fest, Breda, Netherlands. She relocated back home to North Carolina in 2014 and has reconnected with many of the rock stars of her musical beginnings. She currently drums with many well known Asheville based artists.
