Outside the Box - in the bar

Inspiration to draw together different music genres started on the school run in Heptonstall in 2014. Walking up the cobbles, Justin Graham, an ex-Scottish Champion accordion player from John ‘o Groats, met Mark Paramor, an ex rock/punk/ska/reggae electric guitarist from south Manchester. And as luck would have it, local lad Daz Jones, a musical magpie, and a lover of Irish folk - and a (very) well known local bass, tuba, and sousaphone player - was looking for a new challenge. ‘Outside the Box’ was formed. Based around the Celtic tradition, ‘Outside the Box’ bring an original spirited feel to songs and glorious tunes old and new, with a little bit of Bluegrass, New Orleans jazz and American whimsy thrown in. Full throated three-part harmonies, foot-tapping energy and sing a-long choruses - and where there is the mischief-maker Daz Jones - there will always be shenanighans
