Outshine Summer Reading Program

Basic info:

? Center for Developmental Services, 29 N. Academy Street, downtown Greenville, SC

? Wednesdays 1 - 2:30 pm

? June 7 - August 2

? open to any child in the community age 3-12

?‍? A parent or guardian must remain on site during the program.

? Volunteers will read to the littles + help the older kids practice their reading, including helping with pronunciation, word recognition, spelling, and word meanings.

? Reserve a spot for your child with a separate ticket for each session. Click the "More options" button under "Date and time" to select a date.

? In addition to reading, the kiddos can also color and practice writing.

? A small snack + drink will be provided.

? Children with developmental delays and disabilities are welcome to attend!

? Spanish-speaking children are welcome to attend! The program coordinator speaks Spanish and we have Spanish books for all reading levels.

? Kids are encouraged to come to as many Outshine sessions as they can -- no worries if they can't attend every session. They can start the program at any time during the summer.

? Each child will receive a registration packet with a reading log and a few small prizes on their first day of Outshine.

? Each child who attends 3 Outshine sessions will be given a special prize. Another prize will be given for attending 6 Outshine sessions.

? There will be a total of 9 sessions. The last session on August 2 will be a pizza and movie party to celebrate finishing the program!

? Kiddos can bring a book from home or choose from our collection of books for all reading levels.
