We’re opening the doors once again for another round of Aarhus strangest, freest filmfestival. This is a filmfestival for odd, eccentric, obscure low-budget genre movies. We want to show films other filmfestivals wouldn’t dare show. We don’t mind if a film is shot on an old Nokia camera with Singstar microphones for audio; As long as it is somehow unique, worthwhile and/or entertaining, we will give it the spotlight it deserves.Concretely our festival will be a one day festival showcasing strange films. We want to show *outsider cinema*, either tacky campy genrefilms from satire to horror and fantasy, or films that completely defy genres and labels. Even "Experimental" and "Arthouse" are kind of just genres at this point, and they come with a certain expected stylistic baggage. Authentically weird and different flims don't intend to be weird, they come from the heart.
Also, did I mention we want to show those so-bad-it's-good films people made with their friends years ago in high-school? Yes, we do! Please send them to us, the world wants to see 😤.
With our anti-elitist stance 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎-𝟑𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬. The run time is short in hopes of finding many different short films. We do not have a preference for when the film was made. The submitted films will be curated by a selected jury who will attempt to put together an entertaining and diverse program. We expect to exhibit anywhere between 15-30 short films.
OUTPUT Film Festival is inspired by similar festivals such as Fantasia Film Festival in Canada or Sitges Film Festival in Spain. Like Sitges and Fantasia, we want to create an inviting environment for diverse and independent film creators. Especially those who haven’t been through a traditional film school education. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐧𝐨 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐬. We belive that it is just as valuable to have your film seen by a casual everyday audience as it is having it seen by cinephiles or industry veterans. This is a filmfestival for the people. We want to eschew formality and aim for a light-hearted, cozy vibe where people can mingle, celebrate and party.
The festival itself will have a bar serving drinks and complimentary champagne to celebrate, as well as cheap dinner. Every block of films will be followed up by a Q & A session with some of the filmmakers.
The festival will conclude with an afterparty and open dance floor.
