About this Event
The Outhouse Book Club returns on Wednesday, 04 March from 6:30-8:30pm.
For this session, we’ll be reading something a bit different in tone from our last meeting, but just as introspective.
Title: Sputnik Sweetheart
Authors: Haruki Murakami
Length: ~230 pages
Description:
When K., a young writer, falls in love with his best friend Sumire, he knows the feeling is unlikely to be returned. Sumire, fiercely independent and increasingly adrift, becomes infatuated with Miu, an older woman she meets while working as her assistant. What follows is a dreamlike exploration of longing, loneliness, identity, and the strange distances that can exist between people – emotional, psychological, and even physical. Sputnik Sweetheart is a melancholic, surreal novel about unrequited love and the mysteries of human connection.
