About this Event
Join Our Outdoor Leader Workshop!
The Outdoor Leader Workshop is a practical training designed for instructors, guides, wellness professionals, and community leaders who want to confidently plan and lead outdoor activities in front-country settings such as parks, trails, and public spaces.
This workshop covers the foundations of outdoor leadership, including risk awareness, group management, inclusive facilitation, and Leave No Trace–aligned stewardship practices. Participants will learn how to create outdoor experiences that feel welcoming, organized, and intentional—whether leading a nature walk, fitness class, family activity, or community event.
Graduates of the workshop are added to the guide directory within the app, making it easier for participants, cities, and organizations to discover and connect with them. Certified leaders may also promote their events through the ExploreMore app and ExploreMore marketing channels, helping expand visibility and reach without needing to build everything from scratch.
This workshop emphasizes real-world application over theory. Attendees walk away with practical tools, increased confidence, and a clear pathway to leading outdoor programs that people want to return to and recommend.
This workshop is ideal for:
- Outdoor and wellness instructors
- Parks & recreation or wellness staff
- Group leaders, educators, and facilitators
- Anyone interested in leading activities outdoors with confidence
No prior outdoor leadership experience required—just a desire to help others connect with the outdoors in thoughtful, responsible ways.
