Kick off camping season in Texas with FIN's first ever Outdoor Gear Swap & Shop!Are you ready to refresh your outdoor gear collection? Swing by Crux Climbing Center South on September 29th from 10-2 pm for an afternoon full of fun! Exchange your gently used outdoor gear for something new to you! This is a fantastic opportunity to clean out your garage and get some new gear while contributing to a more sustainable lifestyle.
Families in Nature will also have lightly used gear available for a suggested donation from our Gear Library. Don’t miss out on the chance to support a great cause while gearing up for your next adventure!
How to Join:
1. Register for the event online & get discount raffle tickets! We will be raffling off a grand prize sponsored by Patagonia Austin and Crux Climbing Center. All raffle donations will directly support FIN programming.
2. Tell your friends & family! This event is for all ages!
3. Join us on Sept. 29th, 10 am at Crux. Climbing Center South. Check-in at the front table to get your raffle tickets & be entered in our gear giveaway
4. Gather your gently used gear to swap or donate. Please bring a maximum of 5 clean & well cared for items.
5. Shop the FIN gear tables. All gear sale $ helps takes kids outside into nature!
6. Lay out your gear on the swap tables! Please only take as many items as you brought to swap.
7. Make a donation to FIN & take home some high quality outdoor gear at a huge discount!
What do I bring?
To Shop: Cash or card! Each piece of FIN gear purchased will directly contribute to our in person programming, allowing us to take more people outside into nature.
To Swap: Bring your gently-loved tents, sleeping pads, climbing gear, backpacks, hiking shoes, outerwear, lanterns, etc., and trade with others in the community! Please only bring items to swap that you’d want to take home from the swap! Damaged items cannot be swapped. Please bring a maximum of 5 items to swap & only take as many items or less as you brought to the swap.

Sustainability: Gear swaps encourage us to reuse, reducing waste and the demand for new products. This helps us decrease the environmental impact associated with manufacturing and disposing of outdoor gear.
Affordability: Outdoor equipment can be expensive! Gear swaps are a cost-effective way to get quality gear, often at little to no cost, making outdoor activities more accessible to everyone.

So not only can you upgrade your gear, you can also make a difference in your community by supporting Families in Nature and our mission to connect children and their families to nature and to each other through time spent learning, playing and volunteering outdoors!
