Learn all about space and the ways in which we have – and are continuing to – explore it! Meet guest speaker, Dr. Tatiana Niembro Hernández, an astrophysicist from the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, as she discusses her work at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Activities will include a guessing game involving objects in space, making models of spacecraft, and the creation of your very own take-home Pocket Solar System. We will also be debuting a number of artifacts recently transferred to Culture & Heritage Museums from NASA.
