Venture into Chelmsford between Monday 28 October and Sunday 3 November to discover the city and the universe beyond with the ‘Out Of This World’ trail 🌍
Navigate your way through the city centre to identify giant inflatables replicating the eight planets within our Solar System, displayed within some of our incredible businesses 🌌
Complete the trail to crack the missions secret code word, and discover some other hidden surprises along the way… 🚀
Upon completion, head to our designated mission control locations to receive your certified CFY Astronaut sticker 👩🚀

The Space Dome is coming to Chelmsford, venture inside our planetarium and get ready for a 360 cinematic experience like no other…
It’s time for a journey of discovery with the ‘Our Dynamic Earth’ experience, you’ll explore the inner workings of the Earth’s climate system, with a high quality 360-degree display the dynamic earth stunningly exhibits concepts such as the Earth and Sun, Life and the Carbon Cycle, Plate Tectonics, Comparison with Venus and Climate Change.

Huston, we have a problem! It’s time to step in the world of Virtual reality as you take part in this immersive simulated experience, making you an astronaut upon the International Space Station – will your mission be a success?

A short talk on the amazing work Teledyne e2v carries out in the space industry. We’ll be taking a look at some of the most well-known photos of outer space and the Earth, how they were captured, and what happens in Chelmsford that makes it possible for such incredible images to exist. We’ll also explain how huge names such as NASA, Hubble and ESA all have something to thank Chelmsford for!

⭐ Chelmsford Science Festival: The Rocket Show
Ever wondered how rockets get into space… join us for the Rocket Show to learn all about the history and science of rockets from the discovery of black powder to the most recent exploits of SpaceX and others.
Join us in Chelmsford City Centre (Tindal Square) and get ready to see a full size, working rocket car, a working hybrid rocket motor, a working jet engine, a very large fireball and some incredibly loud noises.
