Join the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) as we celebrate the opening of Out of Darkness with a public reception at the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery and Music Room on Tuesday, November 19, from 6 - 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Out of Darkness is curated by Justyne Fischer and features artworks from artists: Stéphane Calvin, Lauren Jackson, Sarah Matthews and Justyne Fischer.

This exhibition celebrates the powerful work of four black female artists. Strength, beauty and resiliency are explored through black identity, social justice and our shared history. Through the use of printmaking, wood-burning and mixed media, these artists tell stories of struggle, strength, adversity and triumph.

Out of Darkness will be on view at the Kramer Gallery from Friday, November 1, 2024 through Friday, January 17, 2025. ​This opening reception is free and open to the public. For more information on the exhibition and the artists, click here.

About Kramer Gallery

Kramer Gallery is the first and only art gallery dedicated specifically to showcasing Montgomery County's emerging and mid-career visual artists. The gallery is managed and operated by the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, in collaboration with the Montgomery County Government.
