In preparation for our performance of 'Our Stories' we will be running free open rehearsals from the 17th June at Littlemore Church. The performance will include popular songs interweaved with stories from our communities. All are welcome to join the scratch choir for this event which celebrates Littlemore and Blackbird Leys and their vibrant communities as neglected and overlooked areas on the fringe of our city. The scratch choir will meet every Monday at Littlemore Church from the 17th June. Our stories is a joint venture between Littlemore Church and Blackbird Leys Choir to create a collective performance from the life stories of people in Littlemore and Blackbird Leys that reflect the changing and challenging world we live in. It is a celebration of diversity and the way we can respond individually, communally and collectively to environmental and social challenges
Because there is so much of interest in so many stories we will be gathering many but only using a few in the performance which will combine popular songs and music with narration. But because we value all stories we will create an exhibition that celebrates our communities and their rich history.
