About this Event
The world has experienced extreme weather events putting a strain on communities, infrastructure and livelihoods. This prompts nations to build up their infrastructure and systems to adapt to the effects of these climatic interruptions..
Water resources are stretched, storms are increasing and nations are suffering from the effects of these extreme weather events.
From droughts to storms, to earthquakes, the world is experiencing a significant increase in severe climatic interruptions.
How we respond and adapt to these environmental and climate emergencies as well as put into effect measures to protect, conserve, and sustain our natural environment, will define the next few decades, the future of our planet, and our livelihoods.
The decisions we make and the actions we take, could have a meaningful impact if channeled correctly.
Young people are demanding that their governments take action to protect the environment, consumers are continuously making purchasing choices based on company and brands' respect for the environment and sustainability practices, and borders are becoming more porous as the threat of complete disappearance continues to be a reality for many small island nations and coastline states rushing to adapt and mitigate against the effects of climate change and environmental degradation.
The Aspire Artemis Foundation seeks to put a lens on the need to rally together to take collective action that demands changes in behaviour of both consumers and governments and highlight the role we all can play in protecting and conserving our natural environment, respecting nature and saving our planet.
Thematic Questions:
- How can AI and technology be used to mitigate and adapt to the ill effects of climate change?
- How can food and agricultural systems be improved through the use of AI and technology? When climatic events affect agriculture yield, how could tecnology assist farmers in working more efficiently?
- What technological advancements can improve water resources management and water and sanitation services for the most vulnerable populations?
- How can technology aid engineers in building better and more effective infrastructure and infrastructural systems to better manage and serve cities and communities?
