Hello LSO ukesters - past and present!We hope you are all thriving in your musical endeavours!
We would LOVE you to join us for our Final Hurrah Farewell Party to celebrate the legacy and camaraderie of the beautiful people who have been a part of our incredible musical community over the past 13 years.
It will be a fantastic opportunity to connect with uke friends and share stories from your time in our wonderful ukulele ensembles that we have cherished for more than a decade.
? WHO?
If you were ever a member of the following groups then we are more than welcome to join us!
? JUGS (Janine's Ukulele Gang) - our original LSO
? NBUGS (the Northern Beaches Ukulele Gang) - our "red" ensemble before we merged into the sea of blue
? Plateau Pluckers - our original group at the War Vets
? Silver Strings - our "LSO training band" at the War Vets
Partners in crime (your "plus one") are also invited to join in the festivities.
? WHEN? 2pm-5pm, Saturday 29th June 2024
? WHERE? Lakeview Hall (upstairs), Tramshed Arts & Community Centre, Narrabeen
? COST/TICKETS?
$30 per person.
Food will be provided but please BYO drinks (any cold or hot beverage you like!).
You will be able to advise any dietary requirements with your ticket purchase.
TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED BY 15 JUNE 2024 so we can confirm catering requirements asap.
? DRESS CODE?
Of course, we can't get enough of a dress up party, so this time we are inviting you to dress up as anything with the acronym “LSO”! For example, you could wear a “Lavish Sparkly Outfit” or come as a “Luxurious Shiny Object”… you get the gist! OR if that’s too difficult to fathom just dress up as something starting with “L” (e.g. lady), “S” (e.g. sir), or “O” (e.g. other)!
? BYO?
Apart from bringing whatever you would like to drink to the party, we are inviting EACH of you to connect with one or more ukulele friends and prepare a performance piece that you LOVE to play (and sing) as a small group, duet etc.
We'd love to hear the music that is close to your heart! (NB: you can only perform once).
If you need to connect with other members from the LSO or other ensembles (as you haven't been in one of our ensembles or played your uke for many years) please reach out to me and I can email you a group of people to connect with. I will not be emailing the entire list to everyone for privacy reasons.
? CAN YOU HELP?
We are looking for volunteers to help with (1) party games, (2) decorations/set up, etc so please let us know if you have capacity to lend a hand.
