The Our DWTN Ideas Fund is here to give life to bold and engaging projects that animate downtown Victoria during the shoulder seasons (Jan. to Apr. and Oct. to Dec.). Whether you're an entrepreneur, artist or community leader, come meet other changemakers, spark fresh ideas and learn how you can receive financial support to bring your vision to life!

Who is invited:

• This event hopes to bring together community organizers, key partners and resource providers across a diverse range of industries, to help facilitate cross-collaboration and idea generation.

• We invite anyone involved in projects that build community, foster connections and nurture a sense of belonging to attend.

Event Structure:

6:15 p.m. - Welcome

6:20 p.m. - Presentations

6:40 p.m. - Our DWTN Ideas Fund Q&A

7 p.m. - Food Pop-ups & Interactive Rooms

Presenters:

• Monkey C (Scott Amos)– Monkey C Interactive is the interactive work of artists David Parfit and Scott Amos. Whether it’s holo a strange and whimsical musical instrument like the Bubble Organ, a giant motion-responsive LED cube sculpture, a tech-house-looping mutant cash register or a 5-story-tall musical stairwell, Monkey C Interactive’s public art installations and interactive sculptures have amused and delighted countless people in their hometown of Victoria, BC, and at numerous festivals and events

• Haus of Owl (Jordan Dack) - Designed as a Coworking Club for Creators, Haus of Owl exists to support the creative spirit, hunger and process of artists in the world of music, film, fashion, photography and dance.

Food Pop Ups:

*Featuring food businesses located in the Public Market – they will be curating plenty of tasters so that you can try a bit of everything.

Food will be provided by:

• Cafe Malabar – Coastal Kerala Indian Cuisine

• La Pizza & La Pasta – Italian Cuisine

• Victoria Pie Co – Local, homemade pies

Activations:

• A Third Place - A place that is not home and is not work. A Third Place can be a cafe, church, club - or in this case, a pop up in the Public Market.

• Good Night Out – The GNO team will have a table - come say hi and learn more about GNO. Vancouver Island — Good Night Out Vancouver

• Glowshrooms - Glowshrooms is an interactive art installation developed by Hololabs

• Quazars Arcade pop-up - each attendee will receive a free token to play a game.

• 4 Roots Collective - Come play two Afro-Caribbean boards games, "Ludo" and "dominoes" and enjoy some tasters of West African meat pies and Jamaican beef patties.
