Astronomy is not just for night owls! Join us and discover some of the unique features of the daytime sky and the science behind them.
What are clouds made of? Why is the sky blue? Why is the moon out in the daytime? These questions and more will be answered in this interactive program for all ages. Start off by learning about some of the beautiful sights that can be seen in the daytime sky while in a comfortable air-conditioned environment. Then, join a ranger outside and observe some of these phenomena in real life. Learn about safe solar viewing practices, and some of the stories the sky has to tell us.
Meet: Park Headquarters, Meeting Room
Bring: Water, weather appropriate clothing, bug spray, and sunscreen
Registration: Attendance is limited. Call 956-584-9156 or sign up at Park Headquarters to reserve your spot. Registration starts on the 1st of the month.
Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE 12 & under (Park entry free with Texas State Park Pass.).
